Configuring a TPE-R1300 for use with PenguinVPN 2.0 Wireguard Configuration

If you are looking for a simpler way to get PenguinVPN 2.0 service working on your TPE-R1100, TPE-R1200, and TPE-R1300 libreCMC router without a ton of manual configurations this set of directions is for you. We've packaged our default PenguinVPN 2.0 configuration explicitly for the TPE-R1100/TPE-R1200/TPE-R1300 router series, but without a few private keys needed for your subscription. If you've got the OEM libreCMC 6.x flashed to a microSD card and installed in the router already then these are the shorter set of directions you can use to load the default PenguinVPN 2.0 Wireguard configuration.

Please note that as of August 26, 2024 we have not verified the configuration tar.gz file is working on the TPE-R1100. If you want confirmation before testing contact support or we will otherwise get to this testing as time permits. We did our verification on the TPE-R1300 and the TPE-R1200 and the TPE-R1300 are identical other than an additional bit of flash on the TPE-R1300.

1. Download the default-wireguard-vpn-config-for-r1300-librecmc6-2024-08-26.tar.gz and make a note of where you are saving it (despite the name this also applies to the TPE-R1200, and will probably work for TPE-R1100 as well, but wasn't tested as of August 26, 2024
2. Connect an ethernet cable from your routers LAN port to a computer
3. Open a browser and login to libreCMC's luci web user interface, https://192.168.10.1, there is no password set by default, just click the Login button

Note: You will get a warning about a security issue, this is misleading as it's a self-signed certificate for a router, just click Advanced, and the Accept the Risk and Continue button

4. Go to System > Backup / Flash Firmware
5. Click the Upload archive... button under the Restore section
6. Click the Browse button and locate your downloaded default-wireguard-vpn-config-for-r1400-librecmc6-2024-08-25.tar.gz file, click the Select button
7. Click the Upload button, then the Continue button to confirm you want to restore this default PenguinVPN configuration
8. Enter https://192.168.3.1 into the browsers address bar, then hit enter, login with username root and password 'none', but without entering the quotes

Note: You will get a warning about a security issue, this is misleading as it's a self-signed certificate for a router, just click Advanced, and the Accept the Risk and Continue button

9. Go to Network > Interfaces and click the Edit button next to WGINTERFACE
